[Treasure-Thursday] The Legend of the Sword

Seiken Densetsu is the name of the series in Japan, in the Western world is known as the Mana Series.

The best known game of the series is SECRET OF MANA for SNES, but it's the 2nd part of the series - Seiken Densetsu 2 (JP) - the first part was Mystic Quest (Seiken Densetsu)
Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) was never released outside of Japan (sadly)

Later games were Legend of Mana (OST on the picture) for Playstation, which also got a manga, Children of Mana, Dawn of Mana and some for mobile devices.

So here it is now, this weeks's treasure, a small part of my Seiken Densetsu Collection

Here are some pictures of the beginning of Secret of Mana - You start as a boy who accidently draws the legendary Mana Sword, which results in the appearance of monsters.

Mystic Quest is the first part the series, it was made for Game Boy - later this game got a huge REMAKE, Sword of Mana for Game Boy Advance, it's about 2 heros, who also somehow took part in Secret of Mana, but I won't tell how, that would be a massive spoiler, so here are some pictures of Sword of Mana:

That's it for today's treasure and asyou can guess, [RePlay] of this 2 games will follow soon, so just stay tuned, folks.

[Treasure-Thursday] Fossil Film Merchandise - Jurassic Park

Let's dig out some bones and ambers and clone some dinosaurs.

Maybe not - I just digged out some Jurassic Park Figurines, a Triceratops, 2 cars and a Veloceraptor.
As you might know some things are necesarry to create a good trash movie: raptors - other things are zombies and ninja - I'd like to see all those in one movie or game:

Ninja Mayhem 2 - the Vengence of the undead raptors... with a bass fishing mini game and the appearance of Dante...(XD)

The Jurassic Park series is one of the best known - the old 3 films were directed in the early 90s and now the latest movie starts in cinemas - Jurassic World, although some of the creatures lived in another period, so Dinosaur Park might be more accurate, but it doesn't sound that cool.

So let's get to the treasure pictures:

I hope the games for Jurassic World (PLEASE: NO MORE LEGO GAMES) will be better than those old JP ones for SNES .

That's all folks - go and watch the movie, I hope it's good...

[Treasure-Thursday] Henshin-TIME - Gosei Sentai Dairanger

Henshin-TIME!!!

Today on Treasure-Thursday it's "Morphin-Time".

This week's pick is my RyuuSeiOh. The Super Sentai Series is a life action series. The first season started 1975 in Japan, it was later adepted to the west under the name Power Rangers.

The original Japanese Super Sentai series is normally much more mature and sometimes dark resulting in deaths of main characters (not every season but not totally impossible or as rare as in the western "version")

In every season a group of young adults has to deal with a threat, mostly impersonated by a group of villains who try to conquer the world.

To fight those evil forces they "morph"/transform into powerful "super heros" who have an arsenal of many different weapons such as sabers blasters...

Almost every episode has the same structure - the minions and 1 monster are sent to the world to do "something evil", it's faces by the rangers and is beaten, but then the villain boss uses a magical spell/skill/whatever to revive and enlarge that creature to make it as high as a skycraper.

To face this huge version of the monster the heros use their "big machines"/robots/"zords"..., mostly animal robots that can combine into an even stronger robot and beat the monster.

The Dairanger series was aired in 1993-1994 in Japan. The series' theme has many chinese symbols, e.g. the animal robots, they have the form of an Tenma (pegasus-like), Kirin (unicorn-like), Shishi (lion-like), Houou (phoenix-like) and Ryuu (dragon) - on the other hand the enemies are often Yōkai or other typically Japanese creatures.

This genre of series is called Tokuhatsu, another example is Kamen/Masked Rideror Ultraman.

Many of this figurines can be found on ebay or in every Mandarake shop in Japan ;)

That's it for the treasure!

See u folks!

[Treasure-Thursday] Advance Wars Game Guide and a [RePlay] Episode - AllinOne

It's Thursday, that means it's Treasure-Thursday.

Today we picked the game guide of the strategy game for GBA - Advance Wars.
It was released in 2001 in NA, 2002 in EU and later in Japan, when Part 2 was released in 2004.

It's also the first game I've ever played on GBA if I remember correctly.

In this strategy game you're a CO and you have to command your troops to victory, as in almost every strategy war game, but the Advance Wars series is much more... let's say friendly, it's not that cruel, though it's still war and 2 armies fighting against each other, but the style and the setting is different to most games of this genre.

A huge Pro for this game is the way of acting with your characters, everything is done step by step, so you can take your time to think about every unit and their actions before you start the struggle.

I guess this game was the reason that I got so much into the Fire Emblem series, many fighting mechanics of those 2 series are the same, though Fire Emblem has a special feature, the Perma-Death, if a character dies, he really dies and is gone for the rest of the game, but by this way you start to get in touch with your chars, not wasting them as cannon fodder.

In advance Wars in some situations you either have to sacrifice a unit or it dies because of standing no chance vs. a stronger one.

Enough talking - Watch the video of the Game Guide and as a small BONUS: the first [RePlay] Episode of Advance Wars, too.

Enjoy and see you soon.

Treasure Thursday - RockMan / MegaMan 20th Anniversary Artbook

Hello RockMan fellows,

today is Treasure Thursday and I present to you my favorite MegaMan Artbook, the 20th Anniversary Artbook.

In this Artbook there are almost all the official artworks of the Main series of MegaMan.

It's a great and also huge collection of all enemies, MegaMan's different Sub-Weapons, Bosses and also many concept arts to see, how the characters have been created, especially the developement process is interesting seeing the first ideas of MegaMan, Dr. Light, Zero and all the others.

Also for Cosplayers it's a huge database helping them to create their costumes.

My favorite games are those of the X Series, especially X, X3 and X6.

You will also be able to see the increase of details - sure on NES and Game Boy the sprites were limited, comparing to the robots and MegaMan himself with the later X Games on SNES and Sony Playstation. Especially the Pack Shot changed a lot (MegaMan 2...)

I really love this Artbook and very often I like to play a round of MegaMan when I look into it.

There actual might be a new artbook with ZXA and the Zero Series, we will see, I'm going to find out soon in Japan this year.

Soon I will upload my first Playthrough Videos - Some Teaser Screenshots

See You!
