Walking on a Rainbow - Picture of the Day #10 - Rainbow Bridge Odaiba

Today's Picture of the Day is the Rainbow Bridge, which connects the artificial island Odaiba and the "mainland". You can see the Tokyo Tower in the back. It was taken in 2012, when I was dashing back to Odaiba like crazy to take a nice postcard like picture after walking over the bridge to the mainland.

The Picture might look a little bit like NYC, but it's not ;)

Directly after being back on Odaiba I ate my first lobster ever at Red Lobster, expensive but soo good and delicious.

I uploaded 2 versions, the original and the edited one.

The Pictures of the Day and INSTAGRAM are linked, as you might know

Enjoy:

Relaxing on Odaiba

Once in a while everyone needs to take a break and press the PAUSE button, I did and went
to Odaiba for a relaxing day.

Odaiba is an artificial island in the South East of Tokyo, there are some malls, the Fuji Television building - sometimes a location for some Super Sentai scenes - the catastrophy prevention center, where you can "try" an earthquake and on Odaiba there is also the Tokyo Big Sight convention center, where the Comic Market (Comiket) and other events are hold throughout the year.

So let's get started with our "tour" of Odaiba!!!

There's a science museum in the South of Odaiba and to explain some things a bit more easily and also to lure the kids in, there's a Pokémon based area in this museum, explaining physics like force or electricity with the help of Pokémon.

For some persons it might be a "pink heaven" for others this Hello Kitty shop could be a real hell and maybe a shock, too.

I've already presented it last year, but the Gundam on Odaiba is just too awesome to be left out.
The Gundam series is a manga and anime series about the Gundams and their pilots, because they are no robots, they're Mobile Suits - some sort of giant mecha.

This franchise is very popular with thousands of different figures to build.

A Taiko Drum at the food court.
Taiko drums are used for festivals or rituals and they have an awesome sound.

Gundam cookie jar

Okonomiyaki - very tasty

Seaside view - Rainbow Bridge in the background

After all this I went to Ōedo Onsen Monogatari - it starts with choosing a yukata - guess which one I chose

Inside it like an old Japanese town, there are several areas, so just have a look.

I'm not grumpy...

And as usual I had go back to the hotel via Akiba... and its Book Off

Very expensive for such an old but awesome game

That's it for Odaiba and the Ōedo Onsen Monogatari, I couldn't take any pictures of the onsen because of privacy and all the other naked men.

That's all Folks!!!
