Wii U is on the run

Last week on November 15th there was an event in Berlin to show the Wii U to an invited group of people. This event was part of the Wii U experience Tour.

The Wii U will be released on November 30th in Europe.

At this event some of the launch titles were shown, so one could get in touch with the new console and the new way of playing coming with the new Wii U Controller.

The perfect game to show many opportunities of this controller is Nintendo Land, which is also part of the .... pack. The game is like a theme park with different games which are based on classical Nintendo games like Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Luigi's Mansion...
The mini game I liked most was the one with Yoshi - your Mii rides on a Yoshi vehicle and has to collect fruits on a green field. On the tv screen you see hole area with all fruits and all obstacles and on the controller screen you have to draw a line to determine your way with the Yoshi-bike, so guessing the positions of the targets is your task. If you look at the pattern of the field and compare both screens you can assume the right positions.

Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed was also presented in the press area, it reminds me a bit of Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing. You can control the vehycles via Wii-Mote or by using the Wii U controller, I took my favorite Knuckles and drove vs. a friend of mine, he took the main character from Crazy Taxi - he used the Wii U Pad and won, because it's easier to control.

I made a little joke: OMG, I lost vs. Robert de Niro,... the taxi driver.

Maybe I will be able to present some more details about this game next time.

I also played the new New Super Mario Bros. U together with someone, who used the whole event to explore as much as possible, especielly the names of the stages. We managed to clear 2 worlds within one hour and it was very funny, because in some moments we needed someone to use the pad to create platforms to get on higher areas to gather coins.

That's all for now, in later entries I'll present some pictures of the event and some more facts about the games.

And for sure the last entries from my trip to Japan will follow.
