Time has passed...

... and now it's finally time for a new entry.

Monday, September 24th

This day we had only one target, Electric City Akiba, it has been the 4th time for me there on this vacation and the first time for Eiji and Dave.

I wanted to show them AsoBitCity, but they were closed, because it was the first day of Fall.
We went into many shops, Yellow Submarine, 2 hobby shops were they had a lot of figures, Eiji was really very impressed by the Kamen Rider / Masked Rider and also Super Sentai figures

In Europe or America the Super Sentai series are known as Power Rangers and are not as brutal as the japanese original - e.g. in Mighty Morphin PR, which in the original was Zyuranger, in Japan the green died, in the western version he became the white ranger and they mixed everything up, until it started to be confusing when you know the origin and the western version. They Power Rangers were also mixed up with Kamen Rider in some episodes, so quiete confusing in my opinion.
A perfect database about Super Sentai you can find by visiting: www.supersentai.com

I bought an Aoashira for my boss. After that we visited some other stores until we found the best activity for I guess an hour: ASSEMBLEBORG (visit www.assembleborg.com for further information)

Next to the window there were many arms, hands, legs, heads, gears... which could be combined to creatures, so I just took my place there and started to build my monster. In the beginning Dave and Gerdi were confused and couldn't imagine that it was fun, but then they tried it too and liked it. Here you can see ours figures: a spider devil, a tank, a cyber-dinosaur and a 4-armed whatever.

We stayed in there until the shop closed, because time passed by, while we were creative.
After that we were searching for a maid cafe, we were interested, what would await ourselves, so we used my map..., but didn't find the wanted cafe, so we asked a maid on the street where this cafe, which we were searching for, is... She said something like follow me, ...so we followed, we went round about 200m and I told my friends, that it was a bit scary, and that we should number our guts to know where they will go, after we passed the next corner. Of course nothing happened, but Gerd and David laughted.

When we entered the cafe we had wait and got everything explained, 1.000 Yen just for being there and everythin in addition if we eat something. The cafe looked like a class room and the girls looked like 15 and called every guest MASTER... I felt very strange in there, but it still could be increased.
Every 15 min. two girls started to dance and sing and suddenly a man in front of our table got up and started to make some weird dance moves, he was dithering and wobbling around, had two glowing pens and was shaking them, it's hard to describe, one must have seen it, too bad it was not allowed to take pictures of the cafe, but of the food.

We ordered some food, David and me took curry and Eiji..., what did he take, I think it was ice cream, I only do remember that he was thinking of taking a plate which includes a picture of one of the girls (In my opinion these thoughts were creepy - I was hungry so I ordered curry)

When the maids brought the food, one couldn't just get started, NO, one had to do a small... procedure - make a heart with your hands, left, right, chest, yeah...

I made my moves really very very enthusiasticly...NO, I made it in a very sarcastic way, hmm, yummy, yummy..., by doing this I licked blood, so we were laughting out loud, very loud, everyone noticed us, but we had fun.

But there's still room for some creepy stuff - the two guys in front of the "stage" area, both 40+, the one sitting there wearing an undershirt the other a Hawaiian shirt, both were sweating a lot, so it was just disgusting.
After 50 min we went out there, Eiji and Dave thought, that the 1.000 Yen would be devided..., no, sure everyone had to pay the 1.000 Yen + food.

My summary about maid cafes... it's funny to see all the creepy guys, but also some kinda scary, I don't need to visit one of these cafes again.

Our next aim was the Comic Toranoana, where they sold doujinshis, finally found one but then the shop closed and I couldn't even buy the art, too bad.

After that we headed to the CLUB SEGA store, time for some Arcades. We played table hockey, after some points multiple pucks came so there were 20 pucks at a time, very funny. Then we saw some Street Fighter Arcades and were wondering, why they sit there for hours spending 100 Yen for every game. There were also a Sailor Moon arcade and baseball arcades, a mixture between Trading Card Game and video game.

After having explored every floor, we finally went back to the hostel, but when we got out of the Sega building it was raining a lot, so we had to run very fast to the JR station, David and me got very wet, but Eiji had an umbrella.

That's all for now, I hope the next entry won't need so long to be released.

DMC Devil May Cry - New Demo available

The new reboot of the Devil May Cry series will be released in a few months and yesterday a new demo was released for XBOX Live and for PSN it will follow today, so just try it and collect some impressions.

As a small candy I present to you an artworks of the upcoming game.

Wii U is on the run

Last week on November 15th there was an event in Berlin to show the Wii U to an invited group of people. This event was part of the Wii U experience Tour.

The Wii U will be released on November 30th in Europe.

At this event some of the launch titles were shown, so one could get in touch with the new console and the new way of playing coming with the new Wii U Controller.

The perfect game to show many opportunities of this controller is Nintendo Land, which is also part of the .... pack. The game is like a theme park with different games which are based on classical Nintendo games like Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Luigi's Mansion...
The mini game I liked most was the one with Yoshi - your Mii rides on a Yoshi vehicle and has to collect fruits on a green field. On the tv screen you see hole area with all fruits and all obstacles and on the controller screen you have to draw a line to determine your way with the Yoshi-bike, so guessing the positions of the targets is your task. If you look at the pattern of the field and compare both screens you can assume the right positions.

Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed was also presented in the press area, it reminds me a bit of Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing. You can control the vehycles via Wii-Mote or by using the Wii U controller, I took my favorite Knuckles and drove vs. a friend of mine, he took the main character from Crazy Taxi - he used the Wii U Pad and won, because it's easier to control.

I made a little joke: OMG, I lost vs. Robert de Niro,... the taxi driver.

Maybe I will be able to present some more details about this game next time.

I also played the new New Super Mario Bros. U together with someone, who used the whole event to explore as much as possible, especielly the names of the stages. We managed to clear 2 worlds within one hour and it was very funny, because in some moments we needed someone to use the pad to create platforms to get on higher areas to gather coins.

That's all for now, in later entries I'll present some pictures of the event and some more facts about the games.

And for sure the last entries from my trip to Japan will follow.
